Carlo Trost was born in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1959. Today he lives and works in the Udine region of Italy. Trost uses primarily organic forms and shapes to create simple, yet startlingly effective images of nature and the natural world. His designs are effective, dramatic and original in concept creating a unique blend of naturalism and modern design that is compelling and beautiful. In 2015 Carlo was commissioned by the Vail Valley Foundation to create a series of unique works to be presented as awards at the FIS 2015 World Alpine Ski Championships in Vail. Trost's unique ski-bib sculptures were viewed live, on television, by millions of people in Europe and the United States. His work has been exhibited in Italy, Austria, China and twice during Miami Art Week at SCOPE International Art Fair (2018,2019). His work is in collections worldwide including Mexico, Singapore, Australia, Norway, Canada. Vail International Gallery has represented him exclusively in the United States since 2005.
